Cooling
We have a major problem with our cooling in the cask storage room. This warm weather is playing havoc with cooling systems. Could not get the temperature below 17 in the cask storage area over the weekend. This is obviously not good for the beer.

Bottled Beer
We are brewing our smoked porter (Aile) for bottling today. Aile is Manx Gaelic for Fire so is a rather apt name for a smoked beer. Keep thinking about getting some of our ordinary malt smoked locally at one of the Kipper producing companies. Only worry is would their be a an oily fishy aroma imparted as well

Peated Malt
We had to take in our peated malt from the maltsters in a one tonne bag. We only use this in our smoked porter "Aile" and only use a very small amount. If we left it all in the one tonne bag we would loose the peated aroma. This means we have to rebag it in 25kg bags :(
